It was more than a respectable effort for his first round of play in a PGA event. Lyon County native Cullan Brown, playing as an amateur, fired an even par 72 in the opening round of the Barbasol Classic.
Brown, who received a sponsor’s exemption to play in the event, shot one over 37 in his first nine holes of the day. He then finished out with a one under par 35 in his final nine holes. The opening round score of 72 placed Brown in 90th place after day one.
Brown had 3 birdies, 3 bogeys, and 12 pars over the opening round.
The Barbasol Classic is being played at the Keene Trace Golf Club.
