University Heights Academy was busy in their first few days at the Western Kentucky University Team Camp that wrapped up over the weekend. The Lady Blazers played 34 timed matches that were 11 minutes long and finished with a record of 20-14. In addition to the matches, the players received skills and fundamentals instruction from the WKU staff, coaches, and guest coaches.
UHA will get a chance to get some more court time against other team Aug. 2-4 when they play at the Bluegrass State Games in Lexington.
The Lady Blazers only lost two starters from last year’s 25-15 team that won the district title and advanced to the region championship where they lost to Henderson County.
UHA opens the regular season Aug. 19 at Hopkins County Central.
