While it was only the second day of fall practice for the 2019 football season, the Trigg County Wildcats gave a solid representation of themselves at the 2019 McCracken Midnight Mayhem 7-on-7 small school tournament at McCracken County High School Thursday evening. The Wildcats went undefeated in pool play and won a game in the tournament to finish the event at 4-1.
In their opener, Trigg County took down South Spencer, Indiana 29-22. The second game of the evening saw the Wildcats rout Butler County 33-14. Trigg County then completed its perfect run through pool play by getting past McCracken County’s “B” team 30-17.
With the pool play completed, the Wildcats were then seeded #2 in the tournament. Trigg County opened bracket play with a win, before falling to South Spencer in the teams’ second meeting of the night in the quarterfinal round of play.
Trigg County will open the regular season on the road, August 23, at Muhlenberg County.
