The division leaders in the Ohio Valley Summer College Baseball League squared off Wednesday night in Hopkinsville.
The Hoptown Hoppers used five-run frames in the second and third innings to down the Owensboro Riverdawgs 12-3.
The Hoppers reached a milestone with the triumph. It was the franchise’s 200th win.
Will Nash (2-0) went six strong innings on the mound and got relief help from Chandler Kendall and Koby Silvy while pitching the Hoppers to the win and a 19-11 record.
Nash struck out eight and did not walk a batter. He allowed two earned runs on four base hits.
Kendall tossed the seventh and eighth, striking out five and walking four without allowing a hit.
Silvy pitched a hitless ninth, fanning one and walking one.
Offensively, Ben Huber went 3-for-4 at the plate and knocked in five. Micah Genter was 3-for-5 with an RBI while Cameron Hill was 2-for-4 with a triple and three runs batted in. Jacob Jenkins was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI.
Owensboro still holds the best record in the league at 18-9.
Hoptown returns to action on Friday when it hosts the Paducah Chiefs at Hopkinsville High School’s Tiger Field.
