After playing eight of their previous nine games on the road while the Western Kentucky State Fair was in town, the Hoptown Hoppers open their longest homestand of the season Tuesday.

The Hoppers went 6-3 over the nine-game stretch and increased their lead in the Ohio Valley League West Division to three games over Paducah and Fulton.

Monday night’s game with Fulton was postponed because of rain and will be rescheduled for a later date. Despite the rainout, the Hoppers will still play eight of their next 10 games at home.

On Tuesday, the Hoppers welcome in Dubois County for a doubleheader sponsored by Pennyrile Ford. In between games, the Hoppers will recognize their host families. The doubleheader begins at 5pm.

Wednesday, the Hoppers host Henderson for Little League Night. All little league players and coaches who wear their jerseys to the game will be admitted free.

After a trip to Dubois County for a game July 4, the Hoppers return home Friday for a 6:30 game with Franklin. Hopper baseball cards will be given to the first 500 fans. The Kentucky New Era will recognize their athletes of the year before the game. After the game, there will be postgame fireworks.

At the midpoint of the season, the Hoppers are third in the OVL in average attendance with 390 fans per home game, which is 72 more a game than last year. Dubois County (853) leads the OVL in home attendance, while Paducah (428) is second.
