Caldwell County finally has a new boys’ soccer head coach in place.
Marshall County assistant coach Tanner Reed has taken over as the Tigers’ new skipper.
Reed, a former Marshal player and 2011 graduate of Marshall County High School, takes over for Alan Shaffer, who resigned following the 2018 season.
Shaffer had been head coach at Caldwell since taking over the program in 2007, replacing Rhett Miller, who is currently the coach of the girls’ soccer team at Caldwell . During Shaffer’s 12 years at the helm of the program, the Tigers went 108-120-1.
Reed, who played college soccer at Mid-Continent and Campbellsville, has been an assistant coach for the Lady Marshals the past two seasons but started working with the boys’ program there in November.
He takes over a Caldwell program that went 2-14-1 last season.
