Could Kentucky pull off another football recruiting shocker after getting a verbal commitment from Justin Rogers, the top-ranked player in Michigan in the 2020 recruiting class?

Rivals writer Andrew Bone of BamaInsider.com says linebacker Quandarrius Robinson, considered the top player in Alabama in the 2020 recruiting class, will take an official visit to Kentucky June 21-23.

The 6-5, 220-pound Robinson, a four-star prospect, originally gave his verbal commitment to Auburn but decommitted after visits to Alabama. He had been slated to make his college choice after his high school season but now says he would like to do it before his senior season starts and maybe as early as July.

He’s already taken a visit to Nebraska and has official visits coming up at Tennessee (June 7-9), Alabama (June 11-13), Auburn (June 14-16) and Kentucky for his final visit June 21-23.

Getting the final official visit often is a big deal. It might not always be — Rogers visited Georgia two days before picking Kentucky — but it certainly puts UK in great position to make a late push to persuade Robinson to become a Wildcat.

Kentucky has a high level list of players scheduled to visit camp this month and recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow — along with some recruits already committed to UK — is optimistic that Kentucky is going to have a banner recruiting month of June.

But even if Robinson doesn’t pick UK, to just be in the mix with the top player in Alabama that Auburn and Alabama both desperately want again shows just how big the buzz is right now about Kentucky football.
