
Caldwell County High School sophomore Tate VanHooser has been named third-team all-state by the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association.
The all-state baseball teams were announced Monday night.
VanHooser led Caldwell this season in batting average (.454) and runs batted in (35) while slamming a school-record 10 home runs.
VanHooser, who also plays football at Caldwell County, helped the Tiger baseball team compile an 18-16 record this season while reaching the 2nd Region championship game. He homered in the title tilt in Bowling Green, but Caldwell fell to Hopkinsville 9-5.
A.J. Hacker of Rowan County was named Mr. Baseball.
