Caldwell County qualified in three events at the KHSAA Class 2A State Track and Field Championships Friday in Lexington, with their relay team just missing a school record.
The 400-meter relay team of Ethan Wetherspoon, Kyrese White, Dylan Cavanaugh, and Trace Olden finished in 16th place with a time of 45.64, which was a quarter-second off the school record.
Olden was scheduled to run in the 200-meters but scratched due to an injury.
Sophomore Jadon Towe qualified for state in the high jump but failed to make the starting height.
