Hopkinsville held off a late rally and knocked off Madisonville-North Hopkins 4-3 Monday in quarterfinal round action at the 2nd Region baseball tournament.
The Maroons scored once in the bottom of the seventh inning to get within a single run and loaded the bases with one out. However, a pair of ground balls to third ended the game.
Hopkinsville will face either Lyon County or Henderson County in Tuesday’s late semifinal game at 8 p.m. at Union County High School.
