Trigg County’s Arrowcats shot in their biggest event of the year in terms of participants, finishing 55th out of 263 teams at the NASP Eastern Nationals Saturday in Louisville.
Sophomore Audie Smith, who finished in the top five for Trigg County at the KHSAA State Meet, shot a 293 to finish 21st out of 2,610 high school girls at nationals.
Junior Apolo Blackbear-Francis and Daniel Martin both shot a 288 to record the best score for the Trigg guys. Blackbear-Francis finished 112th, and Martin was 136th out of 2,699 high school male shooters.
As a team, Trigg County totaled 3,339 points from their top 12 shooters. Castle, Indiana High won the national title with 3,480 points. Trigg County shot the 21st best score out of Kentucky schools at the competition.
