Trigg County’s Bass Fishing teams had mixed results Friday in the first round of the KHSAA State Bass Fishing Tournament on Kentucky Lake Friday.
Chase Oglesby and Ty Meacham sit in fifth place with 14-pounds, 6-ounces of fish. Their big bass weighed 4-pounds, 10-ounces, which was tied for the fourth biggest fish of the day.
Oglesby and Meacham caught their five-bass limit early in the day but had trouble finding them after lunch.
South Laurel’s Shawn Coots and Trent Keltner lead with 19-pounds, 9-ounces.
Trigg County’s Jordan Hampton and Emily Huntsman caught the five fish limit but didn’t have any big ones. They weighed in 5-pounds, 2-ounces, which has them in 77th place.
Huntsman is the first Trigg County female angler to fish in the state tournament.
Teams will hit Kentucky Lake again early Saturday for the final round, hoping to beat a weather system that promises rain at midday.
