Hopkinsville needed only four hits to score in every inning and hand Fort Campbell a 16-1 district softball loss Wednesday. The game was moved up a day to avoid possible bad weather Thursday.
Marley Hancock was strong in the circle for the Lady Tigers, allowing just two hits and striking out seven batters. She run she allowed was an unearned run.
Hopkinsville took advantage of 13 walks issued by Lady Falcon pitching. Shaniya Straight, Jakiyra Rose, and Sebrina Hodge each had RBI singles for Hopkinsville.
Fort Campbell’s lone run came in the second inning when Cadie Suding singled, advanced to second on a passed ball, and scored on a Juli Curney single.
Hopkinsville (10-19) wraps up the No. 2 seed in the Eighth District softball tournament. They are scheduled to host Crittenden County Friday.
Fort Campbell (2-16) is scheduled to host Christian Fellowship Friday.
