Henderson Holds Hoptown to One Hit in 16-2 Win

The Henderson County Lady Colonels scored early and often on the way to their third straight win Tuesday evening. Henderson used a 10 run third inning to blow open the game on their way to a 16-2 five inning win over the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers. The loss was the 8th straight for the Lady Tigers.

Henderson plated two runs in the first and two more in the second to take a 4-0 lead. The Lady Colonels took advantage of three hit batters, two walks, and a Hopkinsville error to get the lead.

Henderson then blew the game open with a ten run third inning to go up 14-0. The Lady Colonels left the yard three times in the inning.

Henderson tacked on two more runs in the top of the 4th inning to push the lead out to 16-0.

Hopkisville got on the board in the bottom of the 4th inning when Nadia Clayton crushed one to centerfield to trim the lead to 16-2.

Henderson pitching limited Hopkinsville to just one hit in the game, that being Clayton’s home run. Clayton ended up 1-2, with the home run, and two RBIs.

Marley Hancock took the loss for Hopkinsville, going all five innings in the circle, giving up 16 runs, 14 of them earned, on ten hits, while striking out one, and walking five.
