Former Trigg County All-Region baseball player Tyler Estes has signed to continue his career at Western Illinois University after a standout career at Vincinnes Junior College.
Estes hit .331 in 39 games for Vincinnes as a sophomore outfielder, knocking in 20 runs and scoring 27 runs. As a freshman, Estes hit .349 with three homers and 21 RBIs.
Estes originally signed with Kentucky Wesleyan out of high school but never played for the Panthers and transferred to Vincinnes, a Division II junior college in Indiana.
He will join a Leatherneck squad that was 18-27 last year, including a 12-12 mark in the Summit League. Western Illinois had five outfielders listed on their 2019 roster, including three seniors.
Estes is the first Trigg County baseball player to sign with a Division I school for baseball in over two decades.
