Cadiz angler Ramie Colson Jr. is in seventh place entering the final day of the FLW Tour stop on Lake Chickamauga near Chattanooga.
After catching 23 pounds of fish on Thursday, Colson added 15 more pounds to the total on Friday. On Saturday, Colson weighed in a catch of 18-pounds, 6-ounces which was the seventh highest total of the day.
Colson’s three-day total of 57 pounds is exactly eight pounds behind the leader, Ron Nelson of Berrien Springs, Michigan.
A top-five finish by Colson not only would mean a big payday, but also give him a bump in points needed to qualify for the season-ending Forrest Wood Cup.
Colson has five top ten finishes on the FLW Tour, the tour’s top series. His last came in 2015. A high finish will also help Colson in the point standings where he stood at 52nd entering the weekend.
