University Heights Academy beat Dawson Springs 27-18 Tuesday in a softball game that set the Second Region record for combined runs in a game. According to the KHSAA record book, the 45 combined runs is the 13th most scored in state history and the most involving region schools.
The 27 runs scored by UHA equals the total scored in a 27-7 win over Providence in 2005.
UHA improved to 3-9 with the win and will play at Trigg County Thursday. Dawson Springs (0-11) is scheduled to travel to Fort Campbell Thursday.
