The Hopkinsville girls tennis team fell 2-3 to Paducah Tilghman on Saturday in the first round of the Kentucky High School Tennis Coaches Association Section 1 championships, before topping McCracken 5-0 in the consolation round.
In singles play against McCracken, Hoptown’s Riley Fort topped Ashley Dalton 6-1, 6-4. Anna Maddux beat Maddine Yates 6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (10-8) and Abby Moss won 6-2, 6-0 over Taylor Riddle.
In doubles play, Ella Lester and Allie Fort won 7-5, 7-5 over Maggie Smith and Hannah Puryear, while Skylar Ray and Sophie Maddux beat Hillary Hollowell and Katie Crabtree 7-6 (7-1), 7-5.
