Lyon County’s Travis Yancy struck-out thirteen and didn’t issue a walk over seven shutout innings to propel the Lyons to a 7-0 victory over visiting Livingston Central on Tuesday night. The Lyons claim their eleventh-straight win to improve to 15-5, 5-0 in 8th-District play, while Livingston drops its third in a row to slip to 5-9 overall, 1-2 in district play.
The Lyons took control in the bottom of the second, loading the bases and scoring the first run when Christian O’Daniel reached on an error to bring in Jacob Peek. Clay Haines came home on a wild pitch, followed by an RBI single by Gabe Board for a 5-0 lead.
That would be all Yancy would need, as he scattered 7 hits over seven innings to earn the win, while also driving-in the final run with a double in the bottom of the sixth.
Board had 3 hits for the Lyons, followed by Brady Darnall with a hit and an RBI and Brody Williams and Aidan Rush with a hit each.
Dakota Lamb took the loss for Livingston, working 6.0 innings and yielding 7 runs, 2 earned, on 7 hits, with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts.
