There is now another girls basketball head coaching position open in the 2nd Region. Webster County coach Brandon Fisher announced Monday that he was stepping away from the Lady Trojans program after three years on the job.
Fisher’s teams were 78-24 over the three year period, reaching the regional championship game all three years. They lost the 2017 title game to Henderson County; won the 2018 title game over Christian County; and despite being heavy favorites, dropped the 2019 title game to Henderson County.
Webster County was 21-13 in 2016-17; 28-7 in 2017-18; and 29-4 in the 2018-19 season.
With Fisher’s announcement that leaves three girls’ programs still currently looking for head coaches in the 2nd Region. Caldwell County and University Heights are also on the hunt for a new head girls’ coach.
