Princeton’s Emma Talley is tied for 29th after one round at the LPGA’s Lotte Championship at the Ko Olina Golf Club in Kapolei, Hawaii.

Talley got off to a hot start in Wednesday’s first round, birdying three of her first four holes. Starting on the back nine, Talley birdied Nos. 10, 11 and 13. A bogey on No. 15 left her at 2-under 34 on the back.

The former Caldwell County High School star recorded a birdie on No. 5 on the front nine to go with eight pars, leaving her with a 1-under 35 on that side.

Talley finished the day at 3-under par 69. She is six shots behind leader Nelly Korda, who fired a 9-under 63 in the opening round.

Talley’s second round tee time Thursday is 6:34 p.m. Central time. That’s 1:34 in the afternoon in Hawaii.

The projected cutline after the second round is 1-under.

The third round of the Lotte Championship is set for Friday, with the final round of this week’s LPGA event scheduled for Saturday.
