Christian County standout guard Aaliyah Hampton made her commitment to continue her basketball career at Berea College official in a ceremony at the school library on Friday, becoming the third Lady Colonel to sign to play at the next level over the last two seasons. Hampton averaged 18.3 points a game to lead the Lady Colonels while shooting 45-percent from the field and 68-percent at the free throw line. She also averaged 5.1 rebounds per game.
She was named All-District and All-Region in both her junior and senior seasons and was named All-State Honorable Mention by the Lexington Herald-Leader after her senior season. Hampton scored over 1,000 points in her high school career.
Berea is an NCAA Division III school that competes in the USA South Conference where they lost to Piedmont College in the conference championship this year, finishing 22-6 under Coach Trent Milby.
