
Fort Campbell senior Elijah Crockett admits he didn’t think playing college football was possible after his sophomore season. However, a coaching change and a renewed work ethic saw Crockett shine on both sides of the football in 2018. On Friday, Crockett signed to play at West Virginia State.
The Fort Campbell senior played receiver and defensive back for the Falcons, starting each of the last two years. Among his senior year highlights was a touchdown catch in Fort Campbell’s Army Bowl win over Fort Knox. His high school coach, Josh Robins, thinks Crockett can compete at the college level on the defensive side of the football.
West Virginia State is a historically black public university in Institute, West Virginia that competes at the NCAA Division II level.
