A night after knocking off Dawson Springs for its first win of the season, the Fort Campbell softball team fell short of the 2nd Region All-A title game with a 24-0 loss to Crittenden County on Tuesday night. The Lady Rockets win their third-straight and six in seven tries to improve to 8-6 overall, and will face Lyon County in the title game.
After 5 runs in the first inning, Crittenden County used a 16-run second, including a 3-run homer by Brandy Book, to put the game away. Starter Destiny Knight and Jessie Potter combined on the no-hitter, walking a couple and striking-out four.
Hannah Carbaugh took the loss, lasting two innings, before Danielle Houston pitched the third.
The Lady Falcons will be back in action Saturday, with Fort Knox (0-3) making the trip to post.
