John Duvall’s second hit of the day ended a marathon 10-9 win for Hopkinsville Saturday against Clarksville Northeast. Duvall singled home Caleb Bapp in the tenth inning to give the Tigers their third win in as many starts.

The Tigers were sitting pretty after an eight-run third inning gave them a 9-4 lead. Layne Jorgensen had a two-run double in the inning, and Blake Balthrop and Landon Snyder each had RBI singles.

Northeast tied the game in the seventh with the help of two Tiger errors, a single, and a walk. Both teams had scoring opportunities in extra innings but couldn’t score until Duvall’s game-winner in the 10th.

Bapp got Hopkinsville on the board in the first inning with a solo home run. Bapp finished with three hits and scored three runs in the game. Duvall and Ryan Myers each had two hits for Hopkinsville, who had 11 hits in the game. They were able to overcome eight errors in the field that led to six unearned runs for Northeast.

Robert Justus pitched the final three innings to get the win. He struck out three and allowed no runs and four hits. Jacob Dilday had an impressive relief appearance with no runs allowed in two innings.

Hopkinsville (3-0) travels to Fort Campbell Monday for an Eighth District matchup on post.
