Caldwell County softball coach David Choate has put together a challenging 2019 schedule for his squad, even in the preseason.
The Lady Tigers headed to Paducah on Saturday for scrimmages against McCracken County, the top-ranked team in the 1st Region, and Madisonville-North Hopkins, the second-ranked squad in the 2nd Region.
Caldwell suffered a 4-1 setback to the Lady Mustangs and a 7-2 defeat at the hands of the Lady Maroons.
The Lady Tigers now turn their attention to the regular-season opener on Monday against an improved Henderson County team. Caldwell will host the Lady Colonels at Lady Tiger Field at the Ratliff Park Complex in Princeton.
