Christian County had two lifters place in the top two at the 40th Annual Kentucky State Powerlifting Meet at Central Hardin High School Saturday.
Niko Bussell won the 235-pound class, and it wasn’t that close. He totaled 285 pounds in the bench press and 245 pounds in the clean for a total of 530 pounds. Second place was 505 pounds.
Trejon Wilson finished second in the 145-pound class with a 225-pound bench press and a 215-pound clean for a total of 435 pounds. He missed first place by five pounds.
Other Christian County lifters that finished in the top 10 at the state meet were:
Jerome Smith – 3rd at Heavyweight (590 total)
Seth Riley – 5th at Heavyweight (580 total)
Joe Alexander – 5th at 145 (390 total)
Antonio Price – 7th at 195 (450 total)
Guy Blyth – 8th at 235 (460 total)
Z Harris – 9th at 195 (390 total)
Corey Griffie – 10th at 250 (480 total)
As a team, Christian County totaled 24 points to finish tied for seventh place. Trigg County won the team title with 42 points.
