Former Caldwell County High School tennis standout Ben Knight picked up a pair of wins on Tuesday for Berry College.
The Vikings defeated Lake Forest 7-1 in the PTR Spring Tennisfest in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Knight, a freshman, won his singles match 6-4, 6-2, and teamed with Jonas Frank to claim an 8-3 decision in doubles competition.
Knight also won two matches on Monday as Berry opened the season with a 5-4 setback to Lawrence Tech in the PTR Spring Tennisfest. Knight won his singles match 7-5, 2-6, 11-9. He and Frank were victorious in doubles action 8-6.
Berry has additional matches coming up Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Hilton Head, facing Indiana-East, Earlham College and Nebraska Wesleyan.
Knight was a three-time regional tennis champion at Caldwell County and was a 2018 Kentucky All-State Tennis Team selection.
Berry College is an NCAA Division III near Rome, Georgia. The school competes in the Southern Athletic Association.
