The Caldwell County Special Olympics Basketball Team got a special send-off from the Butler parking lot on Friday. The local squad will compete at the state tournament in Louisville beginning on Saturday. Helping to wish the team good luck on Friday was the Caldwell County High School baseball team, which was getting ready to practice in Butler Gym. Members of the Caldwell County Special Olympics Team include Jason Williams, Lincoln Hawkins, Joey Hobby, Devin Sizemore, Mike Sizemore, Katelyn Wasielewski, Emily Melton, Katie Beth Purcell and Cayce Farmer with Head Coach Roy Gene Rogers and Assistant Coaches Jeff Wynn and Lisa Martin, and Caldwell County Special Olympics Coordinator Vickie Purcell.
