Christian County will get a chance to exact revenge on the team that has ended their basketball season the past two seasons when they meet Webster County Monday night in the region tournament semifinals at Crittenden County.

The Lady Colonels lost to Webster 61-40 Feb. 12 in Hopkinsville in their lone regular season matchup. Webster also ended Christian County’s season last year with a 45-32 victory in the region championship game.

Christian County (18-12) got off to a slow start in their 50-39 quarterfinal win over Lyon County Thursday. Because Fort Campbell forfeited their district tournament opener, the Lady Colonels have played only two games in the last 17 days.

Webster County (28-3) won their 21st consecutive game against region opposition with a 63-27 dismantling of Caldwell County. Webster County has won nine straight games over Christian County dating back to 2013.

The teams will meet in the second semifinal at 7:30.

In the 6pm opener, Madisonville (23-7) meets Henderson County (16-8). Madisonville, who lost to Henderson 73-37 on Jan. 12, has lost 41 straight games to the Lady Colonels dating back to 1987.

Monday’s winners meet in the championship game Tuesday at 7pm.
