Heritage Christian Academy is the No. 5 seed in the KCAA Girls’ State Basketball Tournament that begins Thursday at Asbury University in Wilmore.

HCA (11-11), runners-up in Region One, will play Region Two winner North Hardin Christian Thursday at 5:30. HCA went 5-3 in league play, while North Hardin was 5-10 in league play. Heritage Christian won their only regular season contest 24-8 Nov. 27 in Radcliff.

A win Thursday means a likely rematch against No. 1 Oak Ridge Christian, who beat HCA three times during the regular season including 46-22 in the region championship Saturday. The semifinal would be played Saturday morning at 9am. The KCAA championship game will be played at 4pm.

HCA is looking to get back to the state championship game where they fell to Trinity Christian last year. Trinity is the No. 2 seed in this year’s tournament.
