Former Todd County Central and Western Kentucky University standout Mike Wells was recognized at halftime of Monday night’s game between the Rebels and visiting Rossview.
Wells averaged 23.1 points per game as a senior for the Rebels, earning 4th-Region Player of the Year and 2nd Team All State. He was the first player in Todd County Central history to score 2,000 career points.
Wells continued his career at Western Kentucky University, playing for the Hilltoppers from 1999-2003. During his time in Bowling Green he was named Sun Belt Player of the Year, and was inducted into the WKU Hall of Fame in 2016.
Wells played professionally in Spain, Portugal, Iran and Japan. He finished his playing career in the ABA for the Bison and Bandits, based out of Bowling Green.
