Webster County’s convincing win over Henderson County puts them in the driver’s seat for the region title. They can strengthen that claim in the next two weeks with games against both Hopkinsville and Christian County. No one new enters the Super 7 this week, but there is some shuffling.

1) Webster County (22-3) – The Lady Trojans ran their winning streak against region competition to 17 games with a 62-39 drubbing of district rival Henderson County. The Lady Trojans finish the year with games against both Christian County and Hopkinsville as well as Third Region favorite Owensboro Catholic.

2) Henderson County (12-4) – The Lady Colonels have won 11 of 13 games with the two losses coming to No. 1 Webster County. Like they Lady Trojans, Henderson County will have upcoming games with Hopkinsville, Christian County, and Owensboro Catholic.

3) Christian County (12-7) – Down at halftime, the Lady Colonels pulled away in the second half to beat University Heights 68-37 Tuesday in their first game in 12 days. In addition to Owensboro Catholic, the Lady Colonels will see Hopkinsville, Murray, Webster County, and Henderson County over the final two weeks of the season.

4) Hopkinsville (14-11) – The Lady Tigers had to put the brakes on their schedule as they approach the 30-game limit. After a 13-day layoff, they looked rusty in a 65-54 loss to Marshall County where they fell behind by 15 points early. Hoptown can prove themselves to be a worthy adversary to the top two teams in the region with upcoming games with both Webster County and Henderson County.

5) Madisonville (17-6) – After a speedbump that saw them lose three straight games, the Lady Maroons have rebounded with four straight wins. They can solidify the number one seed in the district Friday with a win over No. 6 Caldwell County.

6) Caldwell County (10-11) – The Lady Tigers have been wildly inconsistent and will be a team to keep an eye on for a variety of reasons. They picked up some momentum with wins over Crittenden County and No. 7 Hopkins County Central.

7) Hopkins County Central (8-12) – The Lady Storm are another team that has had ups and downs. Right now, they have dropped five of six games, but stay in the Super 7 because there isn’t another team with a resume to knock them out of the spot.
