Florida Atlantic has announced that freshman Jaylen Sebree will miss the rest of the season and undergo shoulder surgery Friday.
The Christian County alum injured his shoulder last week in a loss to Alabama-Birmingham and will have surgery to repair a torn labrum.
The 6-foot-7 freshman has played in every game for the Owls this year with six starts. He was averaging 9.4 points and 4.2 rebounds a game.
Sebree’s playing time increased when Florida Atlantic lost leading scorer and rebounder Jailyn Ingram for the season with an ACL injury.
Florida Atlantic is 10-5 with a 1-1 record in Conference USA. Sebree was scheduled to make a return to the area Jan. 19 when the Owls played at Western Kentucky.
