The Lyon County Lady Lyons were on the fatal side of Tuesday night’s 35-32 decision in Carlisle County. The Lady Comets outscored the Lady Lyons 9-7 in the fourth quarter, handing Lyon County their second consecutive loss.
Freshman forward Rose Smith scored nearly half of her team’s points, netting 14 in the loss. Veteran Allison Murphy was next in line with seven points. For the Lady Comets, Landry Crider and Mollie Henderson poured in 15 points each to score 30 of their team’s 35.
The Lady Lyons shot just 25% from the field, leading to the sub-par showing on offense. Their defense was in-tact, though, holding the Lady Comets to the same percentage. However, they were ultimately edged out in the final minutes.
Lyon County moves to 6-8 on the season with another road test on deck. The Lady Lyons will next travel to Livingston Central on Friday with tip-off set for 5:30 P.M.
