Friday night basketball for the University Heights Lady Blazers called for a rather disappointing performance against the Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons. The Lady Blazers were held to just half of their season’s scoring average in a 66-25 home defeat.
Meghan Adams led the way in scoring with six points. Lily Hendricks added five, netting three of four free throw attempts. Bailey Vier also had five.
Senior guard Alex Juckett was held scoreless through three quarters of play.
For the Maroons, it was Lindsey Peyton leading the scoring effort with 13 points. Camryn LaGrange (11) and Courtney Peyton (10) also contributed with double-figure performances.
For an offense averaging nearly 50 points per contest, Friday night’s showing came as a shock. The Lady Blazers will look to rebound their loss as they retake the hardwood on Saturday against Whitesville Trinity.
