An old problem reared its ugly head for Trigg County in their loss to Mayfield Friday – the scoring drought. The Lady Wildcats went without a field goal in the third quarter and managed only seven points in the second half of their 40-23 loss to Mayfield in the Community Christian Christmas Tournament in Paducah.
Trigg jumped out to an 11-9 lead after one quarter and trailed 20-16 at halftime. Mayfield outscored Trigg 13-1 in the third quarter to seal the win.
Rylee Bush led Trigg County with eight points, and Adri Phillips scored four.
Madison Felts led Mayfield (6-4) with 12 points.
Trigg County (5-9) will play Lyon County Saturday in the consolation round.
