Christian County bounced back from a rough opener at the Poplar Bluff Showdown Friday with a 73-60 win over Memphis Central in the consolation bracket.
Freshman Olajuwon White scored 10 of his 17 points in the first quarter as the Colonels jumped out to a 21-17 lead. Christian County held on to a 32-31 lead at halftime and carried a 51-48 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
Eric Brody scored 9 of his 17 points in the final frame as the Colonels stymied any comeback attempt by Central.
Stephon Bussell had another solid showing for the Colonels with 14 points, while Sha Stowe scored nine points, and D.T. Babb added eight points.
Christian County (6-6) will play Kirby High from Memphis Saturday at 4:00 in the Fifth Place game of the Poplar Bluff Shootout.
