Fort Campbell had four wrestlers finish in the top eight Saturday at the Toyota of Hopkinsville Christian County Invitational despite two of their top athletes not making the trip.
Jesus Avila had the best finish of the day for Falcon wrestlers with a fourth place finish in the 195-pound class. Avila, ranked 15th in the state in the division by Kentuckywrestling.com, won two matches on the afternoon.
Justin Wilson, who is ranked 24th in the state in the 220-pound class, finished fifth Saturday, beating Chucho Conner of Clarksville Northwest in the fifth place match.
Alexei Royar, ranked 13th in the state in the 120-pound class, and Ethan Tomerlin, ranked seventh in the 170-pound class, did not wrestle Saturday due to prior obligations.
Fort Campbell scored 48 points to finish 14th in the 22-team field. Union County won with 283.5 points, followed by McCracken County (219.5), Christian County (204.5), and Ohio County (100.5).
