Webster County remains perfect on the season and stays a perfect 3-for-3 in weeks atop the YSE Girls’ Second Region Super 7. Their district rival, Henderson County, makes the move into the No. 2 spot based on their early season resume. Christian County and Hopkinsville are knocking on the door.

1) Webster County (5-0) – The Lady Trojans knocked off a good Graves County team 49-41 to run their record to 5-0. Webster owns wins over both Bowling Green and Graves County – teams picked in the top four of their respective regions. They host No. 5 Madisonville Friday in a measuring stick game for both teams.

2) Henderson County (2-2) – The Lady Colonels have just two losses on the season. One came to Castle, who is 11-0 and one of the top-ranked teams in Indiana. Henderson’s 14-point loss the Castle looks favorable compared to Owensboro Catholic, who is ranked in the state’s top 10 and lost by 21 to Castle. Henderson’s other loss came to Elizabethtown, another team ranked in the top five.

3) Christian County (3-2) – The Lady Colonels have won three of four, including handing Owensboro their first loss of the season in impressive fashion. They will face two of the better teams in the First Region in the coming week – Calloway County and Graves County.

4) Hopkinsville (6-1) – The Lady Tigers keep on rolling with wins over Union County and University Heights. Their schedule toughens in the coming weeks which will give them every opportunity to make a move in the Super 7.

5) Madisonville (5-0) – The Lady Maroons join Webster County as the only unbeaten teams in the Second Region. They eased past No. 6 Hopkins County Central 50-44 after a 29-point win over Trigg County Saturday. There will be only one unbeaten team after this week as the Lady Maroons play at No. 1 Webster County Friday.

6) Hopkins County Central (3-3) – The Lady Storm have dropped three of four games with two of them coming against region foes Madisonville and Webster County. They only have two games left against region opponents the rest of 2018.

7) Caldwell County (3-2) – The Lady Tigers play their first game in the sectionals of the Class 2A Championships Thursday when they host Paducah Tilghman. Their schedule over the coming weeks will determine whether they remain in the Super 7.
