University Heights placed four runners on the All-Area 1 Team, announced Sunday by the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Tomas Duncan was named to the All-Area 1 First Team, which consists of all three classes. Duncan was also named the Class A runner of the year for Area 1.
Walter Kunnmann was named All-Area 1 Class A First Team.
Region winner Muki Kunnmann was named to the girls’ All-Area 1 Second Team and was named the 1A runner of the year. Piper Hancock was named to the Class 1A All-Area First Team.
Madisonville’s Christian Parker, who won the Class 3A race was named the boys’ Area 1 runner of the year, while Madisonville’s Michael Watts was named coach of the year.
McCracken County’s Maggie Aydt was named the girls’ Area 1 runner of the year for all classes. McCracken County’s Maria Grogan was named girls’ coach of the year.
