Union County hosted the second night of the 2nd Region volleyball tournament on Tuesday, with Caldwell County topping Trigg County 3-0 in the night’s second quarterfinal. In the early game, Hopkinsville saw a valiant effort fall short in a 1-3 loss to Henderson County.
The Lady Wildcats failed to reach double digits in each of the first two sets, falling 9-25 and 7-25. The Lady Tigers finished things off with a 25-11 win in the final set.
Caldwell will enter Wednesday’s semifinal with Henderson County at 24-9, after beating the Lady Colonels 3- in early October. The Lady Wildcats see their season end with a 9-25 record and are still looking for their first regional-tournament win at 0-11 all-time.
