It was a Senior Night to celebrate for the Caldwell County Tigers Thursday evening. The Tigers ended a seven game losing streak with a 6-2 win over Ballard Memorial at Butler Stadium.
The Tigers got on the board first when Barett Schultz found the net at the 9:00 mark to go up 1-0. Blake Vivrette assisted on the goal. The Tigers extended the lead to 2-0 when Schultz scored off a corner kick at 13:00.
The Tigers would push the lead to 4-0 at the half, as they scored two goals in the final three minutes of the first half. Michael Henry scored at the 37:00 mark to make it 3-0. Jack Kinsolving added a goal in the final minute of the half to give the Tigers a four goal lead at the break.
Barett Schultz scored off a corner kick for the second time of the match to complete a hat trick and extend the Caldwell County lead to 5-0 at the 44:30 mark.
Ballard Memorial finally got on the board at 56:30 when Jordan Ross found the net to cut the Caldwell County lead to 5-1.
Collin Shaffer pushed the lead back out to five goals when he scored off an assist from JJ Herrell at 75:30 to make it 6-1.
The Bombers added a goal in the final minute to make the final score 6-2.
Caldwell County improves to 2-13-1 with the win. The Tigers will return to action Monday in the semifinal round of the 7th District tournament when they take on Hopkins Central at Madisonville.
