The University Heights Academy cross country runners were able to brave a rainy morning at the 39th Annual Marshall County Cross Country Invitational in Draffenville Saturday.
Tomas Duncan finished sixth in the boys’ varsity race in a time of 17:07 over the 3.1-mile course. Henry County, Tennessee’s Silas Winders won the race in a time of 15:52.
Walter Kunnmann finished 56th in a time of 19:12, followed by Luke Shouse (122nd, 21:13), Chase Hendricks (129th, 21:27), Trey Wyatt (183rd, 24:11), and Aiden Davis (194th, 25:03).
As a team, University Heights finished 14th with 369 points.
In the girls’ varsity race, Muki Kunnmann finished 20th in a time of 21:47. Henry County, Tennessee’s Dinah Winders won the race in a time of 18:44.
Freshman Piper Hancock finished 60th in a time of 24:19.
Eli Finch finished 81st in the middle school boys’ race, and Isabel Litchfield was 27th in the middle school girls’ race.
