
Chase Atkins ran a season-best time to finish in 10th place Saturday at the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational at Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville.
The Hopkinsville sophomore covered the 3.1-mile course in 17:12. Medina, Ohio’s Harry Custer won the race in a time of 16:30. Atkins was the fourth Kentucky runner to cross the finish line in a race that featured 278 runners.
Other finishers for Hopkinsville were Zlatko Skuljan (170th, 19:58); Max DuBois (210th, 21:13); Chance Jones (212th, 21:16); Jamarius McKnight (22:34, 238th), and Ryker Glathar (260th, 24:35).
