
The Trigg County boys’ soccer team used 3 second-half goals from Will Jolly to beat Todd County Central 5-0 Monday night in Elkton. The Wildcats win their third-straight to improve to 6-1 overall, while the Rebels slip to 0-9.
Trigg’s Cristian Llarena opened the scoring 15 minutes in off the first of 3 assists from senior Daniel Martin. With 10 minutes left in the first half, Martin set up Elijah Gaines and the Wildcats led 2-0 at the break.
Martin crossed for Jolly to score off a header for a 3-0 lead with a half hour to play, before he scored unassisted 15 minutes later. Jolly completed his hat trick with a header off a cross from Clayton Setliff for the final 5-0 score. Matthew Smith and Peyton Phillips each played a half in goal for the shutout.
The Wildcats are on the road again on Tuesday with a trip to face Logan County (4-3). Todd County will be looking for its first 13th District win on Tuesday when Franklin-Simpson (2-4) comes to Elkton.
