The Lyon County Lady Lyons have put themselves in pretty good position for the #1 seed in the girls 5th District soccer tournament. The Lady Lyons roared to an easy 9-1 win over Crittenden County Thursday evening at Lee S. Jones Park.
The Lady Lyons got rolling right out of the gate. They jumped out to a 7-0 lead and never looked back. They outscored the Lady Rockets 2-1 in the second half to wrap up the 9-1 lead.
With the win, Lyon County improves to 3-0 in the district, and can clinch the top seed for the district tournament with a win over Trigg County, September 17th.
The Lady Lyons had several big peformers Thursday evening. Rose Smith led the way with four goals in the match. Destiny Dycus and Leah Schroeder added two each, while Mia Myers scored the other goal for Lyon County.
The Lady Lyons will return to action Monday when they host McLean County.
