You might say the Ohio County Lady Eagles were “Lilly-fied” Tuesday evening during their trip to the pitch at University Heights. The Lady Blazers got a huge night from senior Lilly Strader, and stayed unbeaten on the season, with a 6-2 win over Ohio County.
Strader had a hat trick by halftime, and added two more goals in the second half, as a part of a five goal night to lead the UHA attack.
Strader’s first goal came off an assist from Grace Pape and put the Lady Blazers up 1-0 early in the match. After Ohio County had tied the score at 1-1, Strader struck again to put UHA back in front 2-1. Late in the half, the Lady Blazers extended the lead to 3-1 when Strader finished off her first half hat trick, scoring after driving the ball down the field.
While UHA’s defense was containing the Ohio County offense, the Lady Blazer offense just kept on rolling. Early in the second half, Strader scored off an Ashlyn Parker assist to make it 4-1. Strader’s 5th and final goal of the night extended the lead to 5-1.
After the Lady Eagles trimmed the lead to 5-2, UHA finished the match off on a goal by Alex Juckett, off an assist by Kate Cansler.
Not only was it a big night for Strader with the five goals, but she was also recognized for 100 goals scored, which occurred during the 2017 season. Strader’s goals Tuesday night took her to 150 for her career.
The Lady Blazers improved to 4-0 with the win.
