The Lady Racers of Murray State University will close out their August portion of their season against Florida Atlantic University on Friday.
The Murray State soccer team hosts its final home match of August as they face off against Florida Atlantic Friday at 3 p.m.
The Racers look to regain momentum after tasting defeat for the first time this season at Ole Miss last Sunday in Oxford, Mississippi. Despite the loss, Murray State boasts a 3-1 record on the year and remains unbeaten at Cutchin Field over the previous ten matches dating back to September of 2017.
Miyah Watford has had a stellar offensive showing for the Racers thus far. The junior had back-to-back two-goal performances in Murray State’s 2-1 overtime win over Northern Kentucky and again in MSU’s most recent 3-0 shutout victory over IUPUI. With the four scores, Watford accounts for four of the Racers’ six goals on the season.
Freshman Abby Jones has also contributed her fair share for MSU’s offense. Throughout her first four games, Jones has recorded two goals of her own to go along with three assists for a total of seven points for the Racers.
Friday’s contest will feature Racer Proud Friday as part of the national College Colors Day initiative. Racer Fans are encouraged to promote their school spirit by wearing navy and gold to the game Friday at Cutchin Field in support of Murray State Athletics.
