Logan County was still smarting from last year’s 13th District Girls’ Soccer Championship game where Todd County beat the Lady Cougars 2-0 for the school’s first-ever district title.
The Lady Cougars exacted some revenge on the Lady Rebels Tuesday with a 4-0 win in Elkton. Freshman Linnea Pitts scored twice, and Abigail Lindsey added two goals and an assist for the only scoring in the contest.
Pitts’ first goal was the only goal of the first half. However, the Lady Rebels had trouble getting good offensive looks. Logan outshot them 12-4 in the game.
Logan County improves to 2-0 in 13th District play and now has the inside track at the top seed in the district tournament. Todd County Central falls to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in district play. Their lone win came against district foe Russellville, but it came in the All-A regional and does not count toward the district standings.
Todd County will host Lyon County Thursday.
